You may or may not know that I love the whole concept of “urban exploring” or searching through abandonded places. Weburbanist seems to be as well, as they are frequent posters of abandoned places. This new collection has some really stunning images from twenty different abandoned sites in Europe. I think my favorite is Cheateau Noisy In Belgium.

Fun in Japanese Porn Shops
Because I love you dear readers, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite blog posts on any site ever. A trip to a Japanese Sex Shop. Plus, there’s now an update with a link to all sorts of other disturbing sex items from Japan. You’ll either be tickled with humor or disgusted, so it’s certainly worth a trip to the post.
To Break From The Cuteness
Take a look at these amazing cliff diving pics. There’s a handful of cliff diving spots that don’t look like you’d die just trying to do it…those are the only places I’d ever consider trying. Regardless, it does look stunning when other people do it. -Thanks for the tip Andy!
Keeping up with my obsession of posting all the cool abandoned places posts I find on the net, here’s a great one from Web Urbanist featuring 15 war-related ruins. The mansion in Talisay City is stunning, I wanna go there and play.
If you’re like me, you’ll love this concept of trains with private seating pods. I think it would be ideal if two people could mutually agree to open their pods together if you’re traveling together, but traveling alone is a far, far improvement over the existing “hope a stranger doesn’t molest or rob you” method of public transit. Of course, maybe I just like that idea because I’m anti-social.
The one drawback I really see as impassable, what do you do with the pervs and junkies who violate the very privacy they long for?
Some New Deserted Places
Some of them have been shown here before, but most of these are new.
I think my favorite is the “futuristic resort” (left) in Taiwan. They supposedly are haunted by those who died in their creation, making them one of the
few that really lives up to the “ghost town” name.
The one on the right is one of the more famous modern distaster zones -Chernobyl. Those living here had to leave pretty much all their possessions behind after the “accident.”
Americans definitely love pizza (eating 350 slices of it per second) and although it originated in Italy, we have certainly taken it and ran with it. If we could bastardize the Italian tradition by adding things like pineapple and barbecue sauce, then what have other cultures done to further alter the face of pizza as we know it?
Advertising Age has a great list of products and services made popular in Japan, that may be imported into the US. My personal favorite, the ramen noodle spa.
