Strangely Amazing Digital Art

Pink Tentacle has some great images from artist Ryohei Hase. The digital artist’s work mainly focuses around bizzare human/animal interactions. As I like to classify my favorite art as “demented bunny rabbits,” I, of course, love them. Check out his gallery (NSFW).

Around the World In Pizza Time

Americans definitely love pizza (eating 350 slices of it per second) and although it originated in Italy, we have certainly taken it and ran with it. If we could bastardize the Italian tradition by adding things like pineapple and barbecue sauce, then what have other cultures done to further alter the face of pizza as we know it?

Is This 34 Year-Old Geek Banksy?

MailOnline claims that the true identity of the world’s most famous graffiti artist, Banksy, has finally been revealed and he is none other than 34 year-old Robin Gunningham, pictured here.

Personally, I’m just not feeling it, this guy looks way too lame. But, it’s possible. I mean, Banksy is all just a crazy image, so it is pretty hard to say for sure. I just don’t think they have enough evidence to say for certain yet.

Use the Toilet in India, Earn Some Cash

Here’s a new way to clean up your streets, pay people to use the restroom. If only San Francisco used this approach instead of offering toilets you have to pay to use. The streets sure would smell nicer.

I guess if you’re really poor you have a new option of places to live for your panhandling. Personally though, I’d go to Scandinavia, those bums make bank.

Abandonded Cities, Towns and Buildings

I’ve just discovered a ton of posts on WebUrbanist featuring abandoned towns, buildings and more. The pictures are incredible and the stories behind some of them are just plain insane.

Russia, Europe, the US, Africa, and Asia are all included. It’s pretty nutso.

Check them out:

I Did I My Way…Before I Died

Boing Boing has pulled up a very interesting Yahoo article on the top funeral tunes in Australia. Apparently, “My Way” By Frank Sinatra is number one. Second is “Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.

Funny, I’d really like to have the Sid Vicious cover of My Way at my funeral, not because it’s a great song, but just because it seems aggressive and appropriate. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think a song about a wonderful world is really the kind of song I envision at a funeral.

Childhood Nightmares

I saw Indiana Jones last week. If you haven’t seen it already, without giving too much away, I can tell you there’s a scene with creepy, flesh-eating red ants. I hated the scene though I loved the movie. Why? Because I hate ants.

As a child, one of my worst nightmares involved hiding in a linen cupboard as a line of two-foot-tall red ants walked through my hallway with my parents and my sister on their backs. Just when I thought I was safe, the cupboard popped open and one of the ants started carrying me towards their nest.

It may sound silly now, but it was terrifying to a three year old. To this day, ants in large quantities still creep me out. I know other people have similar strange nightmares when they were children. I was wondering what kind of weird dreams you guys have had. Let me know in the comments.

Magic Mushrooms: The Next Medicinal Marijuana?

Researchers have discovered that people who “shroom” can have an increased level of happiness as much as 14 months later, more on the study. For chronically depressed people (read:me), this could be a life saver…literally. I have in fact taken them when they were legal in Amsterdam and I have to say, I do think it really helped my mood for a long while afterwards.

Pot and prozac do not do this. Nothing legal in the US does this.

Personally, I think more “drugs” should be legal, as a person should be able to do whatever they want to their body. But when it comes to something like this, where it can have major benefits for the person taking it and they don’t hurt anyone by taking it, why the hell isn’t it legal?

Gorefest Cake Sounds Delicious

Yummy. This absolutely graphic cake actually sounds quite good. With flavors like orange cake and raspberry sauce, ginger cake with mango sauce and more. I want one for my Halloween party this year.

Terrorism Is Delicious At Buns And Guns

A new burger joint in Beirut has opened with a terrorist theme. Order burgers to the audio of gunfire -no, really, they’re doing that, and the walls are decorated with fake guns and camoflauge. Try a “rocket propelled grenade” -a.k.a. a chicken skewer.
